The Memphis Grizzlies open there training camp next week at the University of Vanderbilt. The camp runs from October 1st through the 5th. Before departing for Nashville, the Grizzlies will hold their annual Media Day in Memphis on Monday, September 30th from 10 a.m. until 1pm at the FedExForum. Coaches and select members of the front office will be available starting at 10 a.m., while players will be available at 11 a.m.
This marks the first time that the Grizzlies have held training camp in Nashville. Since relocating from Vancouver in 2001, the organization has held camp in Memphis nine times and also has traveled to Birmingham, Ala. (2009) as well as Malaga, Spain (2007) and Barcelona, Spain (2003) as part of the NBA Europe Live Tour.
At the conclusion of the camp, the Grizzlies will treat fans to a free Open Practice at noon on Saturday, Oct. 5 at the Ensworth School at the Devon Farms Campus.
Cool...probably a good way to drum up more fans in close-by Nashville!
